Kia Amanti
The Kia Amanti is ideal for those who want space, comfort and safety within a modest budget. Kia launched this large premium sedan in April 2003, with an aim to change the perception of industry observers and buyers. Kia was at that time rated as an entry-level carmaker.
Cars like the Chevrolet Impala, Ford Taurus, Nissan Maxima and Toyota Avalon soon found their dominance curbed with the launch of the Amanti. Other key vehicles in the North American market such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Ford Fusion also started to feel the heat.
Kia, predominantly a South Korean can manufacturer, has developed the Amanti keeping in mind the needs of a majority of American consumers. The buyers of luxury sedans always look for comfort, convenience and safety in vehicles. Therefore, the onus was on Kia to pull off a car that has all the ingredients to catch the imagination of the consumers. If the response is anything to go by, the Amanti has been phenomenal in attracting the attention of the entire automobile industry. The Amanti has been selected as the "Most Appealing Premium Midsize Car" as per the J.D. Power and Associates' 2005 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study.
The premium sedan is outfitted with 3.5-liter, twin-cam, 24-valve V6 power train capable of delivering 195 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 217 ft-lbs of torque at 3,500 rpm.
Buyers have a deep-rooted notion that the large-car segment only features boring cars that one can easily overlook. However, Kia intends to change that idea with the Amanti thanks to its distinctive styling. This large sedan is set to entice many more buyers and make a long-lasting impression.
