Toyota Camry Hybrid

The Toyota Camry Hybrid was introduced for the 2007 model year, adding yet another dimension to the outstanding Camry lineup. In an effort to improve gas mileage and aid environmental causes, the midsize Camry Hybrid sedan is powered by a 2.4 liter inline 4 cylinder gas engine with a continuously variable transmission that works in conjunction with a high torque electric motor and battery pack. The virtually seamless transition between the gasoline engine and the electric motor facilitates an EPA average in excess of 35 miles per gallon and driver and passengers are typically not even aware of the hybrid engine and just enjoy a smooth, quiet ride. The entire Camry line was redesigned for the 2007 model year, boasting a striking new modern interior and increased cabin space that provides ample room for five passengers. The Hybrid model includes many features as standard equipment including a premium JBL audio system; steering wheel mounted audio controls, dual zone climate control and keyless entry. Optional features include a voice activated navigation system, leather upholstery and a sun roof. The battery pack for the Camry Hybrid is stowed in the trunk, reducing the amount of cargo space available by approximately five cubic feet as compared to the non hybrid models. Although not quite as quick as the non-hybrid Camry V6 models, the Camry Hybrid does not exhibit any severe lack of power or performance and can easily go from 0 to 60 in just over 8 seconds. Braking and acceleration are about average for a non-hybrid mid size sedan; though if power is your primary concern the non-hybrid Camry with a V6 will offer more satisfaction. If a high quality, reliable midsize sedan that delivers impressive fuel economy is more important than an abundance of power, the Toyota Camry Hybrid delivers and offers the opportunity to effortlessly contribute to the health and safety of our environment while driving one of the most dependable and popular hybrid cars in America.
